In celebration of International Women's Day (IWD) and Women's History Month (WHM), led by the women of TMP, we aimed to establish an ongoing initiative dedicated to fostering the professional growth of women within our creative community, both internally and externally.
In celebration of International Women's Day (IWD) and Women's History Month (WHM), led by the women of TMP, we aimed to establish an ongoing initiative dedicated to fostering the professional growth of women within our creative community, both internally and externally.
Responding to this necessity, we introduce Girls* in the Middle (#GIM), focusing specifically on individuals navigating the midpoint of their creative journeys.
We designed a series of interactive masterclasses led by accomplished GIM in the creative field, covering four key areas:
Skill Stacking: Enhancing creative practice
Self-Promotion & Branding: Overcoming visibility fears and client acquisition
Production
Entrepreneurship and Finances
These sessions were led by Jade Keshia Gordon, Delenn Vaughan, Lash Asolo, and Abi Mohamed.
We aimed to create a ripple effect of empowerment that extends beyond conventional settings. Through networking events and collaborative projects, we aim to provide practical strategies to propel women's careers forward, enabling them to transition into executive positions in their respective industries.

We received over 400 applications from creatives eager to participate in our interactive masterclasses. Among them were individuals from diverse backgrounds, including POC, Black, and Muslim women, seeking tailored support and guidance to excel in the creative tech industry. The demand for the specialised assistance and mentorship offered by GIM underscores its significance, particularly for those aiming to pivot into tech, refine their creative skills, and establish entrepreneurial ventures.
Hosted at Google HQ, we welcomed over 70 attendees, providing an intimate setting for nurturing talent and fostering meaningful connections.
Girls* in the Middle transcends a one-time event; it represents a movement by women, for women, striving to thrive in traditionally overlooked spaces. We pride ourselves on addressing the specific needs of our community, including providing a safe and supportive environment for women to shine.
Don't take our word for it; see the feedback here.
The Girls in the Middle emerging from the TMP community are the future leaders of our industry. Take note of their names.
